Mini College Experience
Every summer, we will take a group of middle school students to a North Carolina College or University for an overnight experience. Here, we will tour the college, meet with representatives from various offices across campus, eat meals at campus dining halls, and spend the night in a Residence Hall.
In addition to these on-campus experiences, students will participate in group activities with their TRIO Success Coaches geared towards college and career exploration. We also invite TYLL student leaders on this trip; these are high school students who have applied and been selected to participate in our TRIO leadership program (TRIO Youth Leadership League). These TYLL students help serve as mentors and group leaders for the younger middle school students.
